Ayer conversaba con mi mama y nos acordabamos cuando mi hijo khael tenia solo 2 años y se la pasaba viendo una pelicula del rayo mcqueen , era increible pero el podia pasar semanas y creo que incluso meses viendo esa pelicula , y asi fue , creo que la vimos como 4 o 5 meses seguido , y era sorprendente que cuando le ofrecias ver otra pelicula , el no queria , el buscaba su pelicula y como aprendio a ponerla se apodero del televisor .

Yesterday I was talking with my mom and we remembered when my son khael was only 2 years old and he was watching a movie of mcqueen ray, it was incredible but he could spend weeks and I think even months watching that movie, and so it was, I think we watched it about 4 or 5 months in a row, and it was amazing that when you offered him to watch another movie, he did not want to, he looked for his movie and as he learned to put it on he took over the TV.

Él sabia los dialogos , se sabia las canciones y podia ir contandote lo que venia (como si ya nosotros no lo supieramos ), pero bueno con toda la paciencia le prestabamos atencion , y una dia al parecer se aburrio y sin darnos cuenta cambio a otra pelicula.

He knew the dialogues, he knew the songs and he could tell you what was coming (as if we didn't already know it), but with all our patience we paid attention to him, and one day he apparently got bored and without realizing it he switched to another movie.

Luego pude percatarme de que el duraba un tiempo viendo la pelicula , cuando ya la dominaba entonces la cambiaba, asi lo hizo una y otra vez y creo que aun lo sigue haciendo , ahora con canciones en ingles que esta aprendiendo.

Then I noticed that he spent some time watching the movie, and when he mastered it he changed it, he did it again and again and I think he still does it, now with English songs that he is learning.

Para nosotras como madres , esto puede parecer monotono y aburrido , pero para ellos es toda una explosion de sinapsis en su cerebro , donde se establecen nuevas conexiones por todo aquello que esta aprendiendo y que a traves de la repeticion el consolida hata que llega a dominarlo y entenderlo.

For us as mothers, this may seem monotonous and boring, but for them it is a whole explosion of synapses in his brain, where new connections are established by all that he is learning and that through repetition he consolidates until he gets to master it and understand it.

Cuanta mayor informacion ya sea auditiva , visual o quinestesica , reciban nuestros niños , mayor cantidad de conexiones neuronales crearan (la niñez esta para aprender), pero si esta conexion no esta lo suficientemente fortalecida , entonces desaparecera con el tiempo porque el cerebro no habra almacenado esa informacion .Es por esto la importancia de la repeticion

The more information, whether auditory, visual or kinesthetic, our children receive, the more neuronal connections they will create (childhood is for learning), but if this connection is not sufficiently strengthened, then it will disappear over time because the brain will not have stored that information. Les dare un ejemplo sencillo y personal : yo naci en Haiti , ese es mi pais de origen , y hablaba frances , es mi idioma materno , hablaba el idioma hasta los 6 años , llegue a estudiar preescolar en mi pais , pero luego al venir a a vivir a Venezuela , por el apuro de estudiar en el pais , y aprender a a hablar español , mis padres no tenian mucho tiempo y dejaron de practicar el frances conmigo , todo era en español y estaba bien para ese momento , pero ahora paso algo muy interesante y es que aunque era mi idioma materno , lo olvide , entiendo algunas cosas pero no puedo responder absolutamente nada.

I will give you a simple and personal example: I was born in Haiti, that is my country of origin, and I spoke French, it is my mother tongue, I spoke the language until I was 6 years old, I got to study preschool in my country, but then when I came to live in Venezuela, because of the rush to study in the country, and learn to speak Spanish, my parents did not have much time and stopped practicing French with me, everything was in Spanish and it was fine for that moment, but now something very interesting happened and is that although it was my mother tongue, I forgot it, I understand some things but I can not answer anything at all.

Muy facil , mi cerebro habia desarrollado ciertas conexiones que aun no estaban lo sificientemente consolidadas , y que por no repetir , por no practicar , eran debiles y desaparecieron.

very easy , my brain had developed certain connections that were not yet sufficiently consolidated , and that by not repeating , for not practicing , were weak and disappeared .

Las neuronas se conectan unas a otras a traves de impulsos electricos (informacion), cada vez que realizamos una nueva nueva actividad , decimos una nueva palabra se crean estas nuevas conexiones , pero cuando estas conexiones se realizan en forma constante , es decir cada vez que realizamos la misma actividad y lo reforzamos , entonces el cerebro hace algo asi como una actualizacion , esta conexion se fortalece y es alli donde aprendemos esa habilidad o la dominamos.

neurons are connected to each other through electrical impulses (information), every time we perform a new activity, we say a new word these new connections are created, but when these connections are made constantly, ie every time we perform the same activity and we reinforce it, then the brain does something like an update, this connection is strengthened and that is where we learn that skill or master it.

El conocer esta informacion es vital para nosotras como madres , ya que en el ambito educativo una de las principales herramientas es la repeticion , es por esto que se crean rutinas para facilitar el aprendizaje del niño y por ende debemos comprender que estan en un proceso , ya que es muy facil perder la paciencia , pero sobretodo para los niños pequeños , lo nuevo no necesariamente es lo que estan aprendiendo , sino lo que estan haciendo , con esto quiero decir que un niño que hace tareas , tal vez lo nuevo no sea solo la tarea que este aprendiendo , sino el simple hecho de sentarse a hacer las tareas.

Knowing this information is vital for us as mothers, since in the educational environment one of the main tools is repetition, this is why routines are created to facilitate the child's learning and therefore we must understand that they are in a process, as it is very easy to lose patience, but especially for young children, the new is not necessarily what they are learning, but what they are doing, by this I mean that a child who does homework, maybe the new is not only the task they are learning, but the simple fact of sitting down to do homework.

Nuestro hijo desde que tenia 6 meses , empezamos a enseñarle a nadar , y cada vez que podiamos , haciamos el esfuerzo por ser constantes en enseñarle , y la verdad no veiamos mucho resulatado , es mas me atreveria a decir que lo unico era que no le daba miedo el agua , pero no sabia nadar , pero aun asi nosotros insistiamos en enseñarle , y un dia cuando cumplio 3 años , fue sorprendente , el comenzo a nadar , y dijo lo voy a intentar y lo hizo , nado de todas las formas que se puedan imaginar boca arriba , boca abajo , floto , hizo muchas cosas , y nosotros estabamos sorprendidos , era como si ese dia el hubiera aprendido a nadar , pero la verdad es que no fue así, tomamos 2 años y medio siendo muy constantes en enseñarle a pesar de no ver resultados , pero esta repeticion tomo fuerza en su cerebro , hasta que aprendio.

Our son since he was 6 months old, we started to teach him to swim, and every time we could, we made the effort to be constant in teaching him, and the truth is we did not see much result, I would dare to say that the only thing was that he was not afraid of water, but he did not know how to swim, but still we insisted on teaching him, and one day when he turned 3 years old, it was amazing, he started to swim, and he said I am going to try and he did it , he swam in every way you can imagine , face up , face down , he floated , he did many things , and we were surprised , it was as if that day he had learned to swim , but the truth is that it was not like that , we took 2 and a half years being very constant in teaching him despite of not seeing results , but this repetition took force in his brain , until he learned .

Entonces mis queridos amigos , la importancia de la repeticion en el aprendizaje es vital , no debemos desesperarnos , porque cada niño tiene su tiempo , y el comparar a nuestros hijos , no nos permitira ver que debemos hacer para ayudarles , solo obstaculiza el proceso y baja el autoestima del niño.

So my dear friends, the importance of repetition in learning is vital, we should not despair, because each child has his time, and comparing our children, will not allow us to see what we should do to help them, it only hinders the process and lowers the child's self-esteem.

un dia aprendera , solo que debemos tener la paciencia para entender que esto va a ocurrir en algun momento.

One day they will learn, we just have to have the patience to understand that this will happen at some point.
