On weekends we usually go to the beach, and we often go to the same beach because we are familiar with the surroundings. Last Sunday I noticed this tree growing out of a rock for the firs time. Weird how you see things often but you don't notice it properly.
It was amazing to see that the tree grows out straight from the rock. After a little bit of investigation we saw that the rock was cracked in the middle because of the tree growth, and that the roots were underneath this big rock and we could only see a part of the roots on the one side. There is obviously not a lot of proper soil underneath the rock, so this tree must mainly survive on rainwater and the little bit of sand. I have no idea where the nutrients come from for this tree to survive in the middle of a rock on a beach.
This made me think a little about the wonder of nature and about how people often feel when they are lost in this crazy world. We keep on trying to survive, but often there is not much to grab on.
This tree was a symbol of hope for me, and it means that nothing in life is too hard to overcome. If you have the will to succeed, then nothing can stop you.
