Lila fell asleep and a few hours opened later she woke up with Jeff next to her bed. As she opened her eyes she could feel the nausea overtaking her and Jeff handed her a small cup. He was grinning all over and she felt annoyed.
“What did you do to me Jeff?”
“Let me be the first one to congratulate you.”
“Congratulate me on what?”
“Well Lila you know you were not here just for the fun of it. We implanted the embryo earlier and it is with great pleasure that I tell you that you are indeed pregnant. “
Lila felt devastated. She couldn’t believe that a human being could be so extremely cruel.
“Don’t worry, as soon as this baby is born, then you can go back home. We only want the baby. “
Lila could feel the tears running down her face but she did not say one word.
“I can assure you that you will be save. We have a new security guard at your door at all times and nobody will come close to you, until it is all over.”
Jeff left a minute later and Lila cried her eyes out. If she could only get a message to Jack. She knew that he would come to save her.
It felt like an eternity but a few hours later she could hear someone talking in the hallway. The one voice she could identify as Jeff’s but the other one she couldn’t but it sounded so familiar.
She watched the door expecting it to open at any minute but then she heard Jeff’s footsteps as he walked away.
He must have been talking to the new security guard that he placed in front of her door. Perhaps she could convince him to help her escape and her mind started working overtime.
She lay still for a few more hours and then heard the door open and Jeff walked in.
“I’m going home for the evening Lila. I will see you in the morning. There will be a guard here watching over you. You just stay calm.”
Lila didn’t even bother to answer him and just turned her head away.
She felt safer the minute he left the room.
More than an hour later, Lila heard the door open again. Jack Houston stood there watching Lila and he tried to keep as quiet as possible. Lila could feel someone watching her and kept her eyes closed. She had nothing to say to anyone and she didn’t need a babysitter.
“Well- well, what have we here? This is quite a difficult situation you got yourself in Lila?”
Lila thought that she was hallucinating. She opened her eyes and couldn’t believe Jack was standing close to her bed.
“Oh Jack, you’ve come….”
“I promised your father that I will look after you Lila, and that is exactly what I’m doing. I’m your new security guard.”
Lila was just crying. She has never been happier to see anyone in her life.
“It’s going to take a few days Lila but we are working on a plan to get you out of here.”
“It’s too late Houston….they already implanted the embryo.”
“It’s never too late Lila. I am working with your parents and a team of people to get you out of here. We’ve had someone in here from day one and he has been gathering evidence against Jeff. It will only be a few more days then we have everything that we need. Jeff and his team are going to sit in jail for a very long time.”
