When our bodies are out of balance we feel the symptoms and take the appropriate action. We take the prescribed medication so that our bodies can go back to normal. The body has its own wisdom and the cells in our bodies know exactly what to do so that homeostasis can be restored once again.
Why do we prioritize our physical bodies above our mental health?
Mental health plays such an important role in our lives and it affects our physical bodies more than we think. While we take medicine to stop a cold, it is not always necessary to take medication to help improve our mental state. I am by no means saying that it is wrong to take medication if needed, but sometimes just a little change can make a big difference.
Yesterday I wrote about negative thoughts, and if we replace the negative thoughts with more positive thoughts we will become more positive. This can work wonders for your mental health as well. Think of it as "thinking" yourself out of a difficult mental state.
Life is all about balance, so turn that frown into a little smile, no matter how bad you feel. Flood your whole system with everything positive and by eliminating the negative thoughts you will bring more balance and you will start to feel a little bit better.
