Hello to all the Geek Zone community, this time I want to talk about something fundamental in Hive and in the world of cryptocurrencies in general, the private keys and how to store them correctly.

As we all know, new private keys are our entry key to enter our Hive account or any decentralized wallet we have, so, the loss of these results in the loss of all our funds in it, so keeping them properly should not be taken lightly, personally, I do it in several ways and I want to tell you a little of the pros and cons of each.

The first is to save them in a notepad, compress it in a .Rar file, protect it with a fairly secure password and hide it somewhere hidden in our device, that is, we are not going to put it inside 10 folders, but neither put it on the desktop, for example.

The flaw of this is that we want to connect on a pc that is not ours and we do not have our compressed file at hand, we will not connect, some people upload these files to clouds like Google Drive or Dropbox, but the truth is that these are not entirely safe, investigating I came across a mail client called Protonmail, in this mails are encrypted end to end, even Protonmail protects your location data and other data that other clients like Gmail or Outlook, are easy to find for a hacker.

Another very convenient option is an Android app called "My Passwords", this one, in deference to many other apps in the Play Store works 100% offline, which is more secure, plus it allows you to make automatic encrypted backups in case you need to move all your passwords to a new phone, I wanted to take a screenshot inside the app because this one doesn't allow you to make them.

We still have one last way and it is the oldest of all, writing them on paper, I am not a big fan of this method because I feel that I would lose it pretty fast, but there is no doubt that it is one of the safest methods, since we will not have it hosted in any cloud, application or anything that is accessible by a hacker.

These are the ways I know of, but I am sure there are a few more, no matter which one you use, as long as you keep your private keys well protected.
