This is the monument that the municipality of Cadiz raised to Segismundo Moret four years before he died in 1913.

SEGISMUNDO MORET

Less known than Christopher Columbus and the Spanish kings, Segismundo held several political positions, in addition to deputy, governor, minister and ambassador, he managed to abolish slavery in Puerto Rico (Ley Moret) and promote their autonomy together with Cuba.
