Hi Steve. Itwan't a linear groove, I was improvising leaving space so to trigger delays and filters. I think the best and most annoying practice is to play groove and fills at slow tempos.
Try 30BPM , that's the best.
You will internalize the spaces between the notes and subdivisions. 16th-8th.
