Text to reflect on: Matthew 25: 1-13

Source

Jesus, on this occasion and as he always did, speaks through parables to his disciples to explain the similarity of the ten virgins with the kingdom of heaven and begins by saying that the kingdom of heaven is similar to ten virgins who took their lamps came out to receive to the husband

Jesus highlights in this parable two very important words for the kingdom of heaven: prudence and foolishness.
Prudence is the quality that a person has to consider with caution a fact to avoid greater evils and this must remain in our condition as a Christian since prudence helps us to act with reflection and moderation before any event.

The word foolish is the opposite of prudence since a foolish person is reckless immature and never reflects or meditates when they should do something.

The ten virgins went out to receive the husband with their respective lamps but five of them came out with their lamps full because they were prudent and filled their oil lamps so that they did not lack in case of any difficulty but the other five virgins took their lamp and They did not carry oil with them because they lacked sense to ensure that their lamps did not go out and indeed the parable teaches us that the husband was slow to arrive and they all fell asleep waiting.

However, in view of the situation presented at midnight, the husband presented himself and all the virgins went out to meet them, fixing their lamps, five took their lamps together with their oil and the other five fools when they realized that their lamps were going out because they did not they had enough oil they asked the prudent oil and obviously these wise wise women gave the answer to the foolish

atthew 25: 9
9 But the wise answered, saying, That we should not fail you and you, go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.
Reina Valera 1960 (RVR1960)

This answer can not be taken as a lack of solidarity or negativity on the part of the sensible because she really what they want to teach us is that we must be prepared for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ because we do not know the day or the time it will come
The next verse tells us that when they took the initiative to go buy oil for the lamps it was already too late

Matthew 25: 10-11 New International Version (NIV)
10 But while they were going to buy, the husband came; and those who were prepared entered with him to the wedding; and the door closed.

the husband arrived but they were not present to go shopping at the wrong time. So when they returned and the husband had closed the door, it was too late!
