Mother
4am whispers
Centipede crawls through the night
Through thoughts scratching
Dreaming to be safe
Don’t tell us everything will be alright.
Warm embrace
From long hungry fingers
With sweet words
Seeping into the sleeping
She is always hunting
For the slumbering
And vulnerable.
With eyes half in the other side
Seeing two worlds
Slithering across ceiling & floor
She comes at night
Slow, stealth, seeking.
4am whispers
Are saying your name.
