So, here is my entry for the selfie contest. #hivegcselfie The game I´m currently playing is The Longing a very odd but fascinating game, where you play a shadow creature waiting for his King to wake after 400 days, and I mean actual 400 days in real-time since the game is still active when turned off.
Stuck in an underground cave system, going up to the surface is forbidden (which is way too close to home regarding current events) so the shadow man has to figure ways to spend his time until the awakening.
During my journey, I have found some interesting things and I´m using this entry to document them. Let´s start:
WELCOME TO MY CRIB! My little corner in this dark dreary world. As you can see I have managed to add some decorations that I found during my excursions. I managed to add some paintings that I made, put on a couple of curtains.... Sometimes I like to come here and do some reading, before heading out and explore some more.
This the King... I´m not supposed to wake him up for a while, seriously how much sleep does a person need anyway?
This is the treasure room, all that gold is behind impenetrable glass. I used my pickaxe just to see what would happen, and I broke it, oops. Hopefully, there are other pickaxes around.
I found a map of this place, it didn´t make sense at first but I hope to learn as I explore more. Seriously it´s very easy to get lost in this labyrinth-like caves, sometimes I forget if I have been here before or this is a new area, Thankfully I can record important areas should I need to revisit them. Moving on.
The glowing mushroom cave. They are both edible and make for a nice makeshift lantern. It would be cool if figured out how to take them with me and start planting them at home.
Behold the Hall of Infinity. True to its name, it´s a long white corridor that never seems to end. It stocked full of treasures for the picking if you are patient enough. I might not know if I were able to get to the end, but at least I got this horse head decoration out of this.
The face in the wall. So, far this was the only sentient being in this lonely place I was able to talk with. He gave me more information about this place in exchange for stuff like disappointments? Yes, it´s possible to feel disappointment over dead ends and they are an actual collectible.
The crystal fountain, the most beautiful place for a bath. I collected some crystals as souvenirs for my house. It took me two weeks to get here, no really I had to wait for the moss to grow just to have a soft landing that I had to jump. This is where I found my first pickaxe... which I broke like a dummy.
And last but not least...the infamous water pit. It´s not exactly an interesting sight, except in order for me to climb the ledge on the right, I have to wait for a month for the pit to get filled with water and swim up there. The rest of this area is blocked for now. Maybe I will catch up on my reading, or explore the hall of infinity more. A month can fly by when you have so many things to see and do.
What is one the other side, I don´t know but I hope to find out.
This is not a game for everyone, it requires a lot of patience, there no things to fight, no clear objective. You just explore, and I kinda enjoy it, it´s nice to have game where you can chill and forget your worries from the rest of the world
