Today was another day for planting in my garden. It was time for some Branches that I had left rooting in water for 60 days and 15 days.
I left the Zamioculca branch for almost a month, and now it has four roots. I'm excited to see that this seems to be a good method for rooting. From now on, I'll take branches from the mother plant and put them in water for a month, then I know that with roots, it's harder for them to die in the substrate.
A few days ago, I found a branch of this fern lying on the ground, and I placed it in a glass with water and a little hydrogen peroxide. After 15 days, my plant has rooted enough to be transplanted into a bag with substrate.
The pothos plant took a long time to root, but luckily, today I have these beautiful roots, and I am ready to plant it. It is a little weak, so I weigh it down with a stone so that it can attach itself to the bag without lifting the roots. The substrate is very airy, and the plant is leaning to the sides. I have four more plants to put in bags, but I've run out of substrate, so they'll have to wait for the next few days.
I also started making small changes to the Vicarias' plants. I pruned the long branches. I picked three branches and intertwined them, like a braid. I placed them in a pot and left them there. They've been there for about two weeks, and I've seen that they're doing very well in their pot.
What I want is for the stem to harden with the three branches, then for them to grow upward, simulating a bonsai tree. I am always checking on their progress. I did this with six branches, and I hope they continue as they are. I hope to be able to show how my plants are progressing later on.
I have pruned the Vicaria mother plants, hoping that they will branch out a lot, cut them again, and that these plants, even though they have thin stems, will also become very leafy.
At the moment, I only have three colors of Vicaria: white, white with a red center, and red. I searched for this color for a long time until I found it. Very soon, I will be showing the very leafy plants.
Then I plan to do the same with my Bella a las Once plants. I will strengthen their stems so that they produce multiple flowers of various colors at the apical end. But that will be for another post.
The apple and pomegranate plants I planted are becoming very leafy. So far the acceptance of the new substrate is going very well, I hope they continue like this.
