Dieses Foto habe ich heute, am 26.02.2024 am Strand in der Nähe unseres Appartements in Marbella aufgenommen. Links im Bild sieht man den "Cable Tower". Dieser Betonturm im Meer war einst die Endstelle einer Transport-Seilbahn, die bis Anfang der 1960er Jahre dazu diente, Eisenerz von einer Mine in der Sierra Blanca zu Schiffen zu transportieren, die vor der Küste ankerten.
I took this photo today, 26.02.2024, on the beach near our apartment in Marbella. On the left of the picture you can see the "Cable Tower". This concrete tower in the sea was once the terminus of a transportation cable car, which was used until the early 1960s to transport iron ore from a mine in the Sierra Blanca to ships anchored off the coast.
