I would like to show you some designs with dotting tools. There are at least five different sizes of dotting tools.
For those designs i used:
Tip: if you have only one size of dotting tool and you want to create some regular dots and some smaller it is very easy. If you push hard enough the dotting tool on your nail you will get the maximum size of your tool. But if you touch the nail lighter you can control the size of the dot and you can get smaller dot. You could use some plastic paper as palette (or a regular palette if you have), to practicing the size of the dots before you doing them on your nail. If you push the dotting tool too much on your nail, then the dot will lose the shape. Also make sure that at least the top half of the ball on your dotting tool is covered, because if not, you're just get some marks instead of full circle.
The designs are:
I chose the colors at random, also i chose white as background so the designs have contrast
I prep the tip and i put a layer of gel polish and i put it in the lamp for 30 seconds. And then i began with the designs.
For the polka dot design i used black gel polish. I put a drop of black on my palette and then i chose the size of the dotting tool that i will use.
For the polka dots, the dots must be the same size so everytime refill the tool with colour and try to give them the same distance between them.
I began with a triangle. I also created some half dots in the edges to look like that the design continues.
After every design i had to clean my palette, the tool and the tip. I didn't put the tip in the lamp because the point was to create designs one after another.
For the next design i used red gel polish and the five sizes of dotting tools. I started with the bigger dot, and then two smaller, then four smaller to start of filling some gaps. Then eight smaller dots, and with the smaller dotting tool i filled all the gaps with 23 smaller dots.(I count them but it's not necessary).
Once again i cleaned my palette, tools and the tip.
For the next design i used purple, pink and my smaller dottign tool. I started with the pink and i created the center to guide me. I cleaned my tool and i continued with the purple. Fot the petals i had to begin from the edge to the center. In every petal that you create you have to put it in the lamp for at least 10 seconds because it might be ruinned.
Like mine did. I left it for 2 minutes to show it to you how it could be.
Before the next flower make sure that you have enough colour in your palette. Also if you want you can fill the gaps in the corners with two half flowers.
For the next design i used 3 shades of green. I started with the darker green. I created two lines of dots and then i continued with the next two colours of the same way.
All those designs took me many hours, and that's why this one is messy. I was in a hurry.
