Another older digital collage from 2018 with a fresh retouch. The idea was to visualize an organization about construction and innovation in a surreal way. I chose as my central theme a very futuristic apartment complex and repeated many times to make an even more futuristic tower. I framed it with various construction cranes each one carrying a small piece of the building and a warm orange and yellow colour combination for my background. Last but not least i added one of my favourite filters, full of scratches and worn out marks on the top. Cool thing about this filter is that when the artwork is printed and if the paper quality is good it creates relief like surface.
The trickiest part and more time consuming is cutting away all the crane silhouettes to make them transparent in order to have the cosmic background behind. Turns out that the easiest way was to choose a colour completely opposite of the background but it took a lot of failed attempts until i came up with the idea.
Keep in mind that i am ruuning a Collage Contest open to all creatives that would like to test their skills in collage. Both handcut and digital creations are accepted.
