Geology: What are the different laboratory tests to find out the strength of rocks?
@munawar1235Laboratory tests are carried out, as needed, on small, whole samples of rock cores. However, in-situ rock properties are often calculated by the presence of joints, stratification layers and so on.
In addition to that, it is important that the rock cores come from the areas where the foundations rest. The laboratory tests results shall be examined and taken into account considering also the in-situ features of the rock mass.
