@valthBoth feral and domestic cats have time and time again shown themselves to be big troublemakers for the local ecosystems, and it's not really that strange when you think about it for a second. They are well-functioning predators that have evolved to kill most things that are smaller than themselves, but in contrast to most other predators, they don't have a low population density. This low population density of predators are one of the main things that prevent smaller animals from simply being hunted to extinction, and as you expect, cats are found in a very high density where there are a lot of humans.
