Surely that candle is burning,
All through the night to the morning,
Surely the candle is sad and it's mourning,
Shedding tears of wax beneath its wick,
Incandescent till it gets weak,
Wagging off darkness from your night rest,
Watching you sleep in peace,
Like newly hatched chick in its nest,
No one cares about the candle burning to shambles,
No one wondered what happened to the bar on the table,
Beside the cradle, before they went on bed to stumble,
No one weeps for the humble candle,
That protected them in the dark from stumbling,
Even though it is burning and crumbling,
Even when they realise how nice the candle was at night,
No one cares to live in the dark even though the candle is sad.
And like the candle, sometimes the good people are,
When they try to light other people's path.
Now that you realise how nice the candle is,
Try to appreciate it for what it is.
