This is my first try of combining poem with story writing, this is a story in which i tried to be poetic and at the same time trying as much as possible not to deviate from the main plot which i have in mind, trust me, this was hard to do, you will understand if you are also a poet obsessed with rhymes. This is a story of two lovers bonded by love and parted by the feud of their clans, i hope you will give me your support and i also hope you enjoy this.
I'm a vampire lost
In the world full of lust
Where everything comes at a cost
Just when I thought I was fed up
I became caught up
In the war of love;
.
My heart was stolen by a werewolf
In just a glance, I was lost in her woof
I did realise her love might be my waterloo
Our covens disagreed, insisting it's a taboo
I'm a vampire and a werewolf is not mine to woo
But to all their opinions, I was aloof
My love also tried letting things lose
She said,
"Vampires don't have the soul to love,
What of when tomorrow comes
And you say you want me no more"
I replied,
"I know I have no soul,
As i also know that with you no more,
For me, there is no tomorrow,
You are my daylight ring"
It was on the night of the full moon
And the deities took it an oath sworn
By two lovers ready to face what might be their fate
Our disobedience fueled the hatred and a war was ignited,
When a man falls in love, he follows his stolen heart
Not minding the consequences, even if it might lead to his absolute obsolescence
The situation became an upheaval when we escaped to another town
In three weeks of searching for us things became really violent
Vampires and werewolves broke their truce and started killing one another
A bounty of dead or alive was placed on us
My best friend was tortured till he finally gave in to snitch on us
Our hideout was ransacked in the night, though we were able to escape into the woods,
I lost a wrist and my daylight ring in the fight
Another secret was unveiled,
Aquaeus- the werewolf girl is pregnant!
This became the height of things,
both the werewolves and the vampires wanted us dead
And for the first time in the history of the world
The werewolves and the vampires had to work together to bring about our elimination
We keept running into the deep woods waging off hunters on our trails
Losing my daylight ring was a bit of disaster, I couldn't walk the sun again
So just before the dawn Aquaeus and I would dig a hole in the ground
and Aquaeus would cover me in her wolf form till sundown
We did this for weeks escaping deeper into the woods at night
But our enemies soon caught up on us, there was nothing we could do,
we can't be together to have a chance at escaping
I told Aquaeus to wait for me as I direct them off our path and fence them off
There was little I could do with a wrist
But my love for Aquaeus did the most
I was able to wag them off my tail just before it's dawn
Unbeknownst to me of the danger lurking on my return
I was ambushed by the six elders of my coven,
I was beaten to my knees as my heart was thrusted out of my chest
All I could feel on my dying body as i stared at the full moon,
was the thought of Aquaeus waiting for my return
Aquaeus, waiting for me in the cold night felt something was wrong as the dawn was approaching
She started crying, she knew I couldn't survive the dawn without my daylight ring
And she has been the one protecting me against sun's wrath on my skin
She wailed through the night and a curse was casted upon her
She will remain in her wolf form till eternity
It is a taboo for pregnant wolves to cry
The same thing that made us, marred us
The same full moon under which our oath was sworn,
watched my doom as my heart was torn off my chest,
and Aquaeus and I were torn apart
Just when the Vampires and Wolves were on the eve of celebrating their victory
The deities with fury placed a curse on them;
Vampires daylight rings were rendered impotent and were casted to walk in shadows till eternity
The werewolves lost their human form and became mere- wolves, the animals they had shown they were
Ever since then, every full moon night, the wolves cry for Aquaeus' lover to return
And the vampires as shadows always hide behind anything from the sun
My name is Athaelka, I'm the only vampire with a soul and this is my tale
I'm still searching for Aquaeus, my daylight ring, in the afterlife where I'm writing from
If found, please do kindly return to me.
