I recently attended the Crypto Invest Summit afterparty in Los Angeles sponsored by Good Money. It is definitely one of the most interesting ones I've attended. The venue was absolutely stunning and they went to town setting up a money museum and exhibit featuring the history and the future of currency. I found cozy decor, an open bar, music, history of money and amazing geniuses and futurists exchanging ideas and insights about blockchain, technology, the future of currency. I even came across kirtan singing... Its a blast singing burners and suits in the same space.

But this post is ALL about The Evolution of the 100 Dollar bill. I took pictures from the Money Exhibit and here's what I googled about them.

During the Civil War, these United States Notes got the nickname Greenbacks

These were called Silver Certificates ![3.png]

1880 Abraham Lincoln makes an appearance

These were called Coin Notes, one can use to purchase silver coins or silver bullion

We all call it the Benjamin - Benjamin Franklin makes it on the 100 dollar bill and the hundo gets it's most famous nickname!

This one is called the Gold Certificate with Thomas Hart Benton. Super rare and was the last large size hundo.

This was the year when the dollar shrank to the size the it is currently today.

Not a lot of physical changes but the bearer could no longer trade the hundo for gold.

For the first time, "In God We Trust" is printed on the hundo

90's son whaat! These hundos included a security feature like the metallic strip.

Then in 1996 another overhaul and added more security feature black light capabilities, hologram, red and blue fibers and a water mark... wtf? someone had a ton of fun doing that.
