I am a chess enthusiast. I developed my interest in chess through my father who patiently taught me the rules of the game. He would often play with me queenless or sometimes rookless just to give me a chance to win. So I learned eventually and we had so many battles on the chessboard upto two days before he died. Your kids are fortunate that they developed the interest in this game. Even more fortunate that they have a father who is encouraging them, supporting them and even allowing them to participate in tournaments. Bro, don't let up. After the pandemic, be sure to enroll them back in their chess classes. Especially your 8 years old. The younger they are the better. Who knows? He may turn out to be another Eugene Torre. Salute to you bro. You are a very good father.
