Me incline a responder la pregunta 2 ¿Cuál es un “lujo” que cree que está completamente sobrevalorado?
Podría ser cualquier cosa que la gente vea como un símbolo de una vida cómoda o exitosa, como un bolso de diseñador, una casa enorme, unas vacaciones costosas, restaurantes elegantes o incluso algo mucho más simple. ¿En qué no gastarías tu dinero, incluso si pudieras permitírtelo? ¿Y por qué?. Me identifique con ella, por una situación de la fui testigo llegando a Apure, resulta que una vecina de mis padres, aprovechando una promoción para hacer compras sin inicial y después cancelar en cuotas quincenales, adquirió un teléfono bastante costoso, en su casa hay mucha necesidad, por ejemplo no tienen licuadora, lavadora; Pero prefirió presumir un teléfono bueno, como dice ella, de verdad, me parece un lujo innecesario, yo jamás haría eso, porque de paso quedo con su sueldo casi embargado y no tiene dinero para comprar comida.

It could be anything that people see as a symbol of a comfortable or successful life, such as a designer handbag, a huge house, an expensive vacation, fancy restaurants, or even something much simpler. What wouldn’t you spend your money on, even if you could afford it? And why? I could relate to her because of a situation I witnessed when I arrived in Apure. It turns out that a neighbor of my parents’, taking advantage of a promotion to make purchases with no down payment and then pay in biweekly installments, bought a fairly expensive cell phone. There are many basic needs in her home—for example, they don’t have a blender or a washing machine; But she preferred to show off a “nice” phone, as she puts it. Honestly, it seems like an unnecessary luxury to me. I would never do that, because, as a result, her salary is practically garnished, and she doesn’t have money to buy food.

Si tuviera todo el dinero del mundo, ese es un lujo en el que jamás gastaría mi presupuesto, pero hoy en día, la sociedad nos ha hecho creer de forma errónea que llevar el dispositivo más costoso en el bolsillo es el símbolo máximo de éxito, comodidad y estatus. Sin embargo, para mí, esto es un lujo completamente sobrevalorado que no aporta valor real a nuestras vidas; Si bien, es cierto que un teléfono es una herramienta de comunicación y trabajo. Si mi dispositivo actual me permite enviar mensajes, tomar fotos bonitas para mis publicaciones y conectar con mis seres queridos, ¿por qué sentiría la necesidad de gastar dinero por un cambio mínimo? Muchas veces, la diferencia entre el modelo de este año y el anterior es solo un color nuevo o un lente de cámara ligeramente más avanzado. No tiene sentido financiero ni lógico.
If I had all the money in the world, that’s a luxury I’d never spend my budget on, but these days, society has led us to mistakenly believe that carrying the most expensive device in our pocket is the ultimate symbol of success, comfort, and status. However, to me, this is a completely overrated luxury that adds no real value to our lives; although it’s true that a phone is a tool for communication and work. If my current device lets me send messages, take nice photos for my posts, and connect with my loved ones, why would I feel the need to spend money on such a minor upgrade? Often, the difference between this year’s model and last year’s is just a new color or a slightly more advanced camera lens. It makes no financial or logical sense.

Prefiero mil veces invertir ese dinero en comprar algo para mi hogar o simplemente ahorrar para mi tranquilidad futura. El verdadero éxito no se mide por los objetos materiales que poseemos, sino por las memorias que construimos y la paz mental de no vivir esclavizados por las apariencias. La tecnología debe servirnos a nosotros, no nosotros a ella. Por eso, elijo valorar lo que realmente importa y dejar de lado ese consumismo innecesario.
I’d much rather invest that money in buying something for my home or simply saving for my future peace of mind. True success isn’t measured by the material possessions we own, but by the memories we create and the peace of mind that comes from not being enslaved by appearances. Technology should serve us, not the other way around. That’s why I choose to value what really matters and set aside that unnecessary consumerism.

Voy a responder brevemente la pregunta Nº 1, en el carrete de mi cámara sin filtros, no encontraría una vida perfecta de revista, sino la captura de los detalles pequeños y que encuentra magia en lo cotidiano, hay fotos imperfectas, imágenes borrosas de risas compartidas, platos de comida casera a medio terminar y atardeceres capturados desde la ventana de mi casa; De esas que tomas sin la iluminación ideal, busco congelar el sentimiento del momento. También verían una cantidad enorme de capturas de pantalla de recetas que quiero intentar, frases de libros que me tocaron el corazón y memes que me hicieron reír a carcajadas.
I’ll answer question #1 briefly: on my camera’s roll—without filters—you wouldn’t find a perfect, magazine-worthy life, but rather a capture of the small details and the magic found in everyday life. There are imperfect photos, blurry images of shared laughter, half-finished plates of homemade food, and sunsets captured from my living room window; The kind you take without ideal lighting—I try to freeze the feeling of the moment. You’d also see a huge number of screenshots of recipes I want to try, quotes from books that touched my heart, and memes that made me laugh out loud.
