I had no idea that Khan Academy was such a developed platform that had a strong gamification aspect already incorporated. I keep fixating on the competition aspect of gamification because a leaderboard and my place on it was rarely motivating for me. But the badge collection is motivating for me and I love the way the additional badges gives the students more options in their personlization.
