The GEEK token airdrop is over. The token obviously has some support and interest in keeping the token going forward. It's now time to discuss its future post-airdrop.
There are a few possibilities. Any comments or alternative suggestions are welcome.
1. A team is assembled to reward content. The GEEK token project can be temporary and after all 500 million GEEK tokens are in circulation the team and project are disbanded. The token continues on as a token to be traded and exchanged.
2. After all 500 million GEEK tokens are in circulation @geektoken can switch over to upvote and/or cuation. Maybe similar to
@buildawhale users can pay with GEEK for a chance to have their posts featured in a digest. This allows the GEEK token to continue to have utility.
3a. After all 500 million GEEK tokens are in circulation a new token with a much larger supply can be created and issued. GEEK tokens can be swapped for the brand new token.
3b. A tribe can be created around the brand new token.
The third option is in two parts because they're related. It would also take a lot of investment. According to Steem Engine's pricing list setting up a basic tribe costs 3100 ENG tokens.

I also don't know who would end up being in charge of a future token swap but I guarantee it won't be me. After my experience trying to do a successful airdrop I will leave the logistics of a token swap to someone else.
The second option is a little more effort but can be done cheaply. Applications such as Distribubot can be used with a cheap or free server.
The first option is the simplest. A team is assembled and each team member gets a certain amount of GEEK in payment to compensate them for the time spent reviewing content. Each team member would be issued a cetain amount of GEEK and would be responsible for dispersing the geek as content rewards.
