Hello.
I’ve been inactive for a while because I’ve been into a lot of activities in university (including my thesis).
However, I’ve keep practicing the anatomy of animals in Alesky Arte through the drawing of deer. So, I want to share with you my progress.
As usual, I will show you first the construction, or the determination of spaces and volumes, using geometric figures or distortion of them, using the 4B pencil (sketch). Then I can move forward to make one or two drafts, giving to it its final form and the final work using the 2B pencil, for then to add the patterns and lights and shadows, obtaining the final result. I accompany the final result with the reference guide given by Alesky Arte, to scale, so you can compare the size of my work with the size of the reference.
I decided to give a surprise in the last drawing that I’ll show (SPOILER ALERT: I already showed it and I said in the title, oops).

What do you think about this little deer resting? Do you believe is it just awake or is it going to sleep?
It seems our deer wanted to stand up, so, it was just awakening. Our friend was in such a hurry that I even skip one of the steps from drawing it.
Will it be our friend? Or someone else? Who will it be looking for?
Ink! The little deer was looking for being inking… I say! It was looking for its mommy, and it found her! They look adorable, right? It really pleased me to take a break from my studies to finish this work and I brought it so you can see it as soon as possible. I hope you like it as much as I do.
Recording your process
Something that have worked for me, and I recommend to the ones who are learning to drawing, is to save records (photos, for example) of your drawing and in particular of the drawing process. This let you to have a better perspective with the pass of time about your progress as an artist.
