BIG BEAR SCULPTURE
Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada
Hi steemians, check out these photos of this bear sculpture. This is just one of many sculptures that can be seen around the waterfront in Kelowna BC. This sculpture was created by Brower Hatcher and unveiled in September 2010.
The sculpture is a blue powder-coated frame shaped like a grizzly bear, enclosing symbols of its hometown Kelowna. Inside the bear, you can see fish, a bird, vines, fruit, frogs, and more. You can walk around and right under the bear and look into the frame to see the symbols. The name Kelowna derives from the Native Okanagan Language term for "Grizzly Bear".
