Hope you're having as much fun as I do. The first couple of days have been really interesting for me. During them I've finished my first season and at the same time picked up some knowledge.
And why should I keep that to me. It should be spread around to others that are just starting out with their journey.
First things first. Make sure you have purchased the summoner's spellbook. Without that you'll not be able to earn a single dime.
It's a 10$ purchase, but it's well worth it and you'll get back your investment in no time.
After the purchase you'll be able to:
Now regarding the tips themselves.
You'll probably start battling straight away, so it's important that you first learn about card stats and their placement.
Here's how the battlefield looks like:
You can summon up to 6 monsters for each battle (not counting the summoner). They will be added to the battlefield in the same order you selected them prior to the battle.
Now, the most important thing is how you place your monsters as it can make or break the match.
But first you should get to know your monster cards, their stats, types etc.
There are 3 attack types: melee, ranged and magic.
As you're just starting out then you'll get only standard battle ruleset. But there are many different rulesets that will change your available cards that you can use, their positions etc.
You can check out different battle rulesets here.
If you want to learn more about different monster abilities you can do it here
Always try to complete your daily quest to get a reward chest which can contain potions, DEC rewards or monster cards.
If you're really struggling with the quest you can request a new one. But do note that you change it only once every 24 hours. So you'll be stuck with the new one.
Daily quests are various. e.g. they could require you to complete a quest with a specific splinter, without neutral splinters etc.
There are six splinters and each one contains different monsters that have their own advantages and disadvantages against other splinters.
If you need to complete a specific splinter quest do avoid using only that one for each of your battles. Why it's important? It's crucial because prior to the battle start your opponent can see the last 5 battles you made.
If you'll use only one splinter battle after battle it will make things easier for your opponent to counter your strategy thus resulting in your loss and drop in energy capture rate.
As you'll take part in ranked battles you'll either receive or loose ranking. By winning more matches than loosing your ranking will obviously be higher.
There are six leagues:
You'll obviously start in the novice league, which also holds no season rewards. Season last for various days e.g. 10. After the end of it you'll receive chest rewards.
The higher the league, the higher the reward at the end of it. Each one has specific requirements in ranking and card power.
My advice at the end of the season would be to rent out a couple powerful yet cheep cards to increase your power rating to receive extra reward chests. Of course if your rating is high enough.
I do advise to use the quest potions as they will help you tremendously. E.g. if you were in the bronze league you'd receive a single chest from daily quest rewards.
But if you use a quest potion you'd receive extra 5 chests. That's a whole lot more chances daily to get some good rewards.
You can buy them at the shop. But do buy them with the credits instead of DEC! The price of a single potion with credits will be just 0.75$ While paying with DEC the price in USD will be huge in comparison.
Take advantage of the sale and rent market whenever you can.
You can rent out many powerful cards at a low cost. This will not only help to complete your daily quests with ease, but will also increase your win percentage which will result in higher ranking and bigger DEC gains from battles.
If you have some good unused cards you can rent them out to earn some passive income.
On top of that keep out an eye for the sale market. Very often someone wants to sell his cards very fast by setting lower prices.
You can take an advantage of that to either buy them for your own use or resell them at a higher price thus gaining extra income.
Another important point that can increase your gains and lower expenses in shop.
If you can find a good guild, join it. Most likely it will have specific rules (like DEC donations) for the members to stay in it. But it's for the greater good so that the guild could grow.
Of course the more developed the guild, the better the rewards:
It might be a bit difficult to find a good guild and get accepted in it, but I think it's well worth it. Although I'm still looking for one myself :)
And last but not least - SPS airdrops. Take advantage of them while they last. The best thing - you don't even have to do anything to receive them.
You'll gain these extra assets by just playing the game and collecting the rewards. Each day a snapshot of your in-game assets will be made and based on those you'll receive a set amount of SPS.
Of course the more in-game assets or SPT tokens you hold the bigger the daily airdrop you'll receive.
Claim and stake the rewards to earn even more while the APR is still high.
