The above is what I created on this subject, I love reworking old art in a new context, playful but also giving it my trademark streetart style. Were in somewhat of a sticky place with NFT's rn. A bear market slowly waking up bulls however chain activity has made it more expensive to mint artworks when their simply isn't many buyers for art.

$10 editions on Solana.

I've been minting NFT's since 2018 and been astonished at the scale it has developed. Back in 2018 I saw maybe 50-100 people creating and collecting together on ETH. Largest sales maybe topping $20/$30 max for 1/1's. Their wasn't many platform's and money in the space.

Chains I use
ETH
TEZ
SOL
BTC

I have stayed limited because I feel like these chains are either fruitful enough or have a good community vibe to create around.

Break down for newer artists looking to mint artworks:

ETH
The expensive chain. Ideally mint & create contracts if you already have an audience, gas fee's can vary from $7 - $40 just to mint an artwork. Selling is hard with that in mind.

Platform's I suggest for artists:

Superrare
Knownorigin
makersplace

TEZ
Great fun vibes. Cheap to use but hard to grow. One of the best options for starting out minting can be $0.20-$0.5. Their's an obvious ceiling though and the more you create the more you trap yourself in a starving artist's fun alley. Sites:

Objkt
Teia

SOL
Solana is in it's own little bull right now and is seeing a surge in NFT consumption. However as an artist the options are limited for art against pfp's and other collectible. Biggest pro is minting cost. You can mint artworks for as little as $0.5/1. I have only just started using this because of ETH gas. Site:

Exchangeart

BTC
I haven't used bitcoin much only for pepe cards on XCP

Overall it's clunky, slow at right now expensive. However this price surge has been because of the rise of ordinals and tbh I have been apprehensive about their future.

Conclusion
Explore them all but I recommend starting with Tezos. Cheap, good community and art sells low and frequent which leaves you with almost nothing to lose and experience to gain.
