Hi Steemians,
I've been on Steemit now for about a month now (absolutely love it! by the way])and have always signed the end of my posts with just my name in italics [Gareth], this I feel is just a bit boring so have added a simple image which looks a bit more interesting.
That done I then thought about creating a simple animated GIF like many other posts have that shows your name and the follow, upvote and resteem. Having absolutely no idea how to do this using pro specialist software, which I don't have, but what I do have is Microsoft PowerPoint and have a basic knowledge of how to use it and so created this simple GIF I can use.
This is how I did it - it is really easy!
In PowerPoint I created a custom sized slide of 480 by 97px
Design – Slide Size – Custom Slide Size
Change the Slides sized for to custom and entered in the dimensions.
Next created an animated slide in the usual PowerPoint way with the animations to run after each other rather than on a click.
Once I was happy with the result the next thing to do was save as type Mpeg-4 Video as PowerPoint can’t save directly to GIF format.
Now the file is saved I have to convert it. There are many online converters that are free, I just used the first one that came up in Google when I searched. All I did then was to upload the file to the website, click a convert button and then download the resultant GIF file.
There you go a simple animated GIF to use following your posts – see I told you it was easy!
The whole start to finish process did not take very long at all and will I play about more with the animations in PowerPoint to try to get a more professional finish however; I’m no graphic artist so I not exiting too much!
