The main reason why we are using steemit and why it is growing so fast is the financial incentive, which is revolutionary in my opinion, but in the other hand, we are not fully switching to steemit because there is no way to connect to other people in a private manner, a.k.a private messages, friends and private groups.
As made in openbaazar, @dan and
@ned could theoretically implement a private message system in a decentralized way into steemit and i see no reason we couldn't implement friends and private groups into steemit as well.
With these features implemented, steemit would stomp facebook, twitter or any other social media in every way, there would be no way NSA or any other government agency could break our privacy and plus we would get financial incentive for using steemit.
And as explained by Hans Hermman Hoppe, we should put our hope in radical decentralization.
