Spring is infinitely pleasing. I want to spend as much time as possible outside, in the garden, among blooming trees and flowers. But today I want to tell you about the first inside park of living plants in Ukraine called Oasis Park. It is located under the roof of the biggest of the Kyiv shopping malls, namely Respublika Park.

Весна тішить безмежно. Якомога більше часу хочеться проводити надворі, в саду, серед квітучих дерев та квітів. Але сьогодні я хочу розповісти вам про перший в Україні парк живих рослин, що має назву "Оазис". Він розташований під дахом найбільшого і найкрутішого за дизайном і сучасних архітектурних рішень київських ТРЦ, а саме ТРЦ Respublika Park.

In the central atrium of the shopping mall, you enter a real park with an incredible number of living trees and plants, an area of 2,000 square meters. Oasis Park was created taking into account the latest trend in architecture, which is called biophilic design. This is not something completely new. After all, this trend in design was first discussed at the end of the 1980s. Instead, it began to be actively used in the early 2000s.

В центральному атріуму торгівельного центру потрапляєш у справжній парк з неймовірною кількістю живих дерев і рослин, площею 2 тис. кв. метрів. Парк "Оазис" створений з урахуванням новітнього тренду в архітектурі, який називається біофільний дизайн. Це не є щось абсолютно нове. Адже про цей напрямок у дизайні вперше заговорили ще на прикінці 1980-х років. Натомість активно почали використовувати з початку 2000-х.

As you know, biophilic design involves the use of living plants: various trees, bushes and exotic plants, and, above all, natural lighting in an anthropogenic environment. But such interior design is much more than just indoor plants. Because biophilic design is not only about aesthetics and functionality but also an effective way to improve the mental health of people living in the city. It is like a kind of happiness tool. The indoor plants and trees in such areas where people spend much time, can ease stress, increase comfort, brighten the mood, and even promote healing. After all, adding vegetation into a built space fosters the connection between humans and nature.

Біофільний дизайн передбачає використання живих рослин — різноманітних дерев, кущів і екзотичних рослин, і, насамперед, природного освітлення в антропогенному середовищі, тобто, середовищі, де перебувають люди. Але такий дизайн інтер'єру — це набагато більше, ніж просто рослини у приміщенні. Позаяк біофільний дизайн — це не лише естетика й функціональність, а й дієвий спосіб поліпшити ментальне здоров'я людей, які живуть у містах, особливо в мегаполісах. Фактично, це як своєрідний інструмент щастя. Адже кімнатні рослини і дерева в таких місцях, де люди проводять багато часу, можуть знімати стрес, підвищувати комфорт, піднімати настрій і навіть сприяти одужанню. Зрештою, додавання рослинності в забудований простір неабияк сприяє зміцненню зв’язку між людьми та природою.

Personally, being in this corner of a real oasis under the roof of the shopping mall Respublika Park, I felt an incredible sense of peace and even coziness (although I don't like visiting shopping malls, primarily because they are always noisy). It is as if time stops here, and you are simply in silence, in harmony with the nature that surrounds you within the shopping space. A lot of light entering the atrium through the transparent roof creates the feeling of being under the open sky. It seems that breathing here is so easy! After all, plants emit a lot of oxygen. And, of course, a green color has a positive effect on mood. By the way, in Oasis Park, I noticed many indoor plants that I have at home. This also creates a corresponding connection, because when you are in a park with such plants, you feel as if you are in a home environment.

Особисто я, перебувачи у цьому куточку справжньої зеленої оази під дахом торгівельного центру Respublika Park, відчула неймовірне відчуття спокою, і навіть затишку (хоча я не дуже люблю відвідувати торгівельні центри, передусім через те, що там завжди шумно). Тут наче час зупиняється, і ти просто перебуваєш у тиші, в гармонії з природою, що оточує тебе в межах торгівельного простору. Багато світла, що потрапляє в приміщення через прозорий дах, створює відчуття, наче перебуваєш під відкритим небом. Здається, тут так легко дихається! Адже рослини виділяють багато кисню. Ну і, звісно, зелений колір позитивно впливає на настрій. До речі, в Оазис-парку я помітила багато кімнатних рослин, які є у мене вдома. Це теж створює відповідний зв’язок, адже, перебуваючи в парку з такими рослинами, відчуваєш себе як у домашньому середовищі.

Ukrainian and Dutch designers worked on the creation of Oasis Park, in particular, more than 2,000 live trees were brought from Holland to decorate the green area of the park.

Над створенням парку "Оазис" працювали українські й голландські дизайнери, зокрема, з Голландії для оздоблення зеленої площі парку було привезено понад 2 тис. живих дерев.

In addition to the attractions located next to Oasis Park, this unique continuous ribbon attracts special attention - the 150-meter fiberglass bench on which you can not only sit but also lie down. It organically fits into this green jungle and creates a public space where visitors to the shopping mall can read a book, play with their children, and just relax.

Окрім атракціонів, що розташовані поруч з Оазис-парком, особливу увагу привертає ось ця унікальна безперервна стрічка — 150-метрова склопластикова лава, на який можна не лише сидіти, а й лежати. Вона органічно вписується у зелені джунглі парку і створює громадський простір, де відвідувачі торгівельного центру можуть почитати книжку, пограти з дітьми або просто відпочити.

Staying in such green spaces has a therapeutic effect. And although I visited the shopping mall in the morning, when there were still very few visitors, the feeling that you are in some botanical garden, alone with nature, did not leave me. Perhaps, this is the secret of happiness, which is designed to give residents of megacities biophilic interior design.

Перебування в таких зелених насадженнях дійсно має терапевтичний ефект. І хоча я відвідала ТРЦ Respublika Park зранку, коли відвідувачів було ще дуже мало, відчуття того, що ти знаходишся в якомусь ботанічному саду, наодинці з природою, мене не покидало. Можливо, в цьому і полягає секрет щастя, який покликаний подарувати жителям мегаполісів біофільний дизайн інтер'єру.
