Absolutely awesome and I generally put some sand layers on top to prevent fungus gnats from beginning to attack the roots of these tiny little babies.

Generally I have small plants like this in a Solo cup and only transfer them when they are big enough that I can see that they've colonized that clear plastic cup very well.

Watering with B vitamins and chelated micronutrients will definitely help these little babies skyrocket and be super gentle with any fertilizer but I think that living soil has all that's needed and would be gentle enough.
