My credentials. Master tracker of the Shoshone tribe. Certified because I found tracks that two other Master trackers missed.

Biggest way I can tell between deer and elk is size. However that rides backseat to the fact that you can see the prints. And now it's just learning how to follow them and measure spacing. Just remember spacing increases when these animals go faster.
