YouTube announced it will be increasing its monetization requirements from 4k watch hours to 8k and 10 mil shorts views within 90 days to 20 mil to apply for the YouTube Partner Program.
My guess is to combat A.I slop. YouTube already has requirements for videos to earn; why not update them or enforce them more strictly?
