That's the way the cookie crumbles. At least they didn't tax the 2M€ that my assets were valued at the top. That'd absolutely be unfair, and would easily have been the end of me. But realistically, they are only numbers. There are no feelings left when it comes to money. Now I'm just trying to learn new things and have fun while doing it.
