Down on the shores of Lake Ontario there is an abundance of small families of Osprey within the marshlands and forests.
Their main prey are fish and they are also known as the fishing hawk. They have very hooked talons, and spikes on their feet, which are called spicules to help them with successful hunts.
These birds can live between 15-20 years and return to the same nesting area every year. Luckily, I have a family living in my neighbourhood and have the privilege of shooting these birds when I please.
