Prejudice is a strong and unfounded attitude of dislike, or hatred towards a particular person or group of people based on negative stereotyped beliefs because of the assessment without looking at the unique characteristics of a person or group of people only based on their membership in the group.
Many people form and have prejudices because prejudice can play an important role in protecting or enhancing an individual's self-concept or self-image. Prejudice can also be interpreted as an antipathy attitude based on an incorrect and inflexible way of generalizing, and prejudice as a negative evaluation of a person or group of people towards another person or group, simply because that person or group of people is a member of another different group.
