What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.

- T. S. Eliot -

I looked at the menu considering my options...a part of me thought something different might be nice, the rest of me said, G-dog you idiot, just order what you always do because that's what you're eventually going to do anyway. Ok, fair call.

Potato rosti stack topped with bacon, poached eggs, caramelised onions and avocado with a side of spicy tomato relish. That's how one starts Saturday off right! Oh, coffee too of course.

I don't like weekends and if you believe that you're totally bonkers.

I love weekends as everything seems possible, even though not everything is possible. They stretch out ahead of me and I like the feeling of being able to plan to do something or plan not to do anything as I determine feels right at the time. Movies? A hike? Kayaking? Shooting? Off-roading? Holding the couch down watching movies or reading? Gardening? Fuck all? It's all possible.

I've just had a week off work in between ending one job and beginning a new one; I start Monday. I'll not be working weekends of course, that way lies madness, but considering the time off leading into this one it feels a little different. The end of something. But...I've not really got anything planned to mark my last weekend before resuming work.

This morning I woke up early and headed to a café for breakfast. Naturally I had my laptop and a book along, I don't go many places without them. I ordered, as above, and started Hiving on my computer. I may have taunted someone online with an image of my delicious breakfast first though, sorry tengolotodo@tengolotodo, I told you I'm evil. After that I got to Hiving.

Some coffee and that really delicious breakfast later I decided I better do something more productive, so I relocated to a slightly quieter café and wrote a post for later this week.

I guess that sounds a bit strange, going to a second café, I needed the quiet though. Like I said, weekends are my own, unstructured, planned or unplanned and designed around me. Life is too short to be pushed and pulled around by others, most of whom don't count anyway. So I do what I want when I want. After I finished the writing I went for a walk and then returned home.

Tonight is Formula One qualifying for the Monaco race on Sunday so I'll be watching that (with snacks) and have an evening of reading ahead of me before and after the qualifying session.

I'm considering going to the cinema and seeing the new Top Gun movie on Sunday but am undecided just yet.. I know, it'll probably be bad but that's not going to stop me; sometimes bad is good. (I'm a great example of that with my goodbad self.)

That's about it for my weekend. I'm hoping it moves slowly although I have a feeling time doesn't give a fuck about what I want so I'll probably just enjoy the moments a little more to make up for that. My Saturday starter breakfast helped get me off on the right foot so I'll use that momentum to make the most of the rest of the weekend before work on Monday.

What have you folks got planned? Tell me in the comments below and if you don't have a post idea for this weekend take a look at the weekend-engagement writing ideas by clicking that link back a few words - If you'd like. I'm not forcing you.
