Thanks mate. This piece was inspired by all the rubbish the world is repeatedly told by the media. I wanted to show a more unadulterated perspective rather than the propaganda the world is fed. People against people, brutally taking lives is what war is about...Social media and media in general has an agenda that is weighted one way or the other and pitch the information they spread accordingly. People trying to survive and kill is the reality, no matter the political agenda that plays out at the top...Which is usually designed around those at the top, not those getting their boots dirty in the mud.

In reality that kid in the fiction would be dead I guess, taken by the sniper, but something told me not to write it that way. Maybe he goes on to do something good with the life sniper allowed him. Maybe the sniper left him alone for his own good. I'm not sure, but it felt right to let the lad go rather than drop him.
