I never knew you had guns also! Nice. So yes, your comment about them being tools is spot on, they are simply inanimate objects that humans put to use for various tasks. They are, as you quite rightly state, neither good nor bad.

I like your knife reference...I use that one too...And cars...I mean 10,000 Americans die each year through alcohol-related vehicle incidents...Are cars banned? Nope. It seems so logical to many but there's some that say guns kill people still, when *clearly, the person behind the gun is making that happen, not the gun itself.

My plan is to show the girl that gun owners are responsible people, every day, normal people and also that when a firearm is treated correctly, stored and operated correctly and under the law, they are no different to a soccer ball, a hammer or kitchen knife. Just a tool...Sure, one that is dangerous, but a tool nonetheless. I hope to at least open her eyes a little, to get her to think a little more clearly and maybe change her dialogues somewhat.
