Yeah, it's pretty essential but it's often only when things go wrong when the focus is put on things healthy habits. Some don't survive the things that went wrong though, heart attacks and all. My brother (tarazkp) had a stroke a couple years ago, at 41 and whilst it wasn't diet-induced it was an event that could have ended his life. Fortunately it wasn't his time, but for many others they don't make it. So, I think it makes sense to move (be more physically active) and to eat a diet that leans more towards good health than bad. Afterall, there's a lot at risk...life itself.

Biking is good, lower impact on the body that running and walking but equally as good. I walk and hike a lot (been running as well lately) and my diet is pretty decent despite a few forays off the rails now and then. It doesn't mean I'll avoid health issues, but means I'll live better day by cay and mitigate risks. It seems like the minimum requirement to me and I think you understand well.
