It's through those fails that we learn for sure, if we survive them. :)

One day wanders cooking food on an open fire are great, I do that a lot in winter (so there's no fire bans) and enjoy the simplicity of it. There's little travel, almost no gear and the enjoyment factor is high. I hope you manage to get out and about a few times.

There's something about fire though. Making it and watching it.

It seems we have the same love of fire. I love making fires in the wilderness, I love the whole process from finding the right wood, kindling and tinder (the latter I often bring with me) to selecting the spot, making the fire pit and, of course, the actual process of building the fire. I'd say I'm pretty good at it to be honest, not boasting just stating facts.
