That's legit! Pretty cool to have that history in your family. Thankfully he got the flu mate, the Western Front was no place for anyone. Have you been? It's amazing. We spent a week there with a private guide. It was confronting, sad, emotional and informative...Made me feel more Australian and closer to the past. Went to the nightly 8pm service at the Menin Gate in Ypres a few times - So moving.

(I've also done the Kokoda Trail with the same results...But it was much harder than touring the Western Front in Belgium and France.)
