Water trickled over the curves in rivulets, found creases and folds and caressed them tenderly - Their path erratic, governed by the shape of the wet body, before dripping to the floor in puddles; droplets clung to those curves like a lovers embrace, there they glistened, the light giving the appearance of captured stars sparkling within each tiny droplet. I admired the sensual movement of water over that body, the way it dripped off the peaks and trickled through the troughs...Then I applied the foam, a lot of foam - all over.
I lovingly and gently washed every square inch of that body from top to tail, front and back and, when done I dried it off, each sweep of the towel a pleasure...Afterwards I was sated; spent. I needed to nap and regain my strength. original im src

It's not that I'm lazy, just that we've had crazy November weather and it's rained off and on over virtually the entire month. It just doesn't make sense to spend three hours giving it a wash when it's going to rain in a day or so. OK, maybe it's also because I've been a little lazy. I have an excuse though, my new job has required a lot of energy and focus so coming home to give the Big Dog a bath didn't seem very appealing. Today though...No excuses.
Big Dog is a big-ass vehicle in length and width and as I've had the suspension lifted to give additional clearance for off-roading it also has a lot of height; it tops out at 2.15m high (critical to know for undercroft car parks), which is a smidge over seven feet, so getting up there to wash and dry it requires a step ladder and that takes time and is annoying. I had to get it done today though as I'm one of those men who likes a clean vehicle. Sure, I'm happy to get down and dirty in the wilderness but when driving around town I like to have a sparkling clean vehicle as I feel it's a representation of myself.
Three hours and seventeen minutes is how long it took me today; I timed it. That's a full wash, including wheels, door-jambs, grille, bull-bar and the interior. I didn't wash the wheel-arches like I usually would as I left my wheel-arch cleaning brush at my other house. Fuckety fuck! I'm not very happy about it but I'll deal with it.
The images above shows it complete minus the tyre treatment I usually give it, which I have now since done - Yes, the Autoglym tyre dressing was at my other place also. No matter, it's done now and the Big Dog looks pretty damned dashing.
After three hours of car washing I was pretty tired and my back was hurting; I felt like a nap but a G-dog's work is never done...I was off to the hardware store to look at pornography.
That means tools folks. I am sizing up a power mitre-saw and circular saw, both cordless, with the intention of getting them but there's a bit of research to do first...And who doesn't like tool-porn right? I had a Cornish pasty (nowhere near as good as the real thing in Cornwall) for lunch at the hardware store caf茅, Bunnings, for those Australian's who will know what I mean, then wandered about in the massive warehouse full of porn; tool porn I mean of course.
After I got home I did the tyre dressing to finish off the Big Dog and...Yep, took a nap to recover my energy. I love afternoon naps although don't get to do it so often...When I get the chance I take it. I threw on some instrumental music and snoozed. Lovely.
That's about it so far this weekend folks. I'm making southern chicken tender wraps with slaw for dinner tonight, served with some thick-cut potato chips on the side; I know, right? Yum! I'll probably watch a movie tonight and do some reading later on. A fairly typical sort of evening and nothing too exciting.
I've got a few plans for Sunday at this stage, but I'll talk about that some other time as this post is getting long.
Drop me a line below and let me know what your weekend is all about this week, or just do a post in THE WEEKEND community. Also, if you're not sure what to post about you can take a look at the #weekend-engagement topics for this weekend W-E77 here and get involved. You might get curated and win some hive as well.
Have a good one y'all and also...I hope y'all didn't mind my little bit of creative writing at the top of this post. I like to have some fun occasionally. A bit click-baity I know, but so what? 馃ぃ
Take care folks...G-dog is out of here!
