Here we say,
"He who walks in honey, something sticks to him."
"He who walks with wolves learns to howl."
And so, friends do influence, and a lot, I'd say. Your spouse is your filter; she should be your support and tell you when something's wrong, and you shouldn't get offended by it.
Now, with kids, it's a problem. If everyone stares at screens, you'll soon have one like that, so you must seek the circle you want for them, and that's priceless. Meanwhile, enjoy not being fat, as your health will worsen; I see fat parents and kids seeing that as a common model. What are you teaching, trash or what?
