Continuing on from my Part 8 post with the Book of Proverbs written by King Solomon the son of King David... Most people have heard of the name 'King Solomon' and quite rightly too. The bible tells us he was the wisest among all men, "And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five."
1 Kings 4:32
Wisdom's Invitation
1 Wisdom has built her house,
She has hewn out her seven pillars;
2 She has prepared her food, she has mixed her wine;
She has also set her table;
3 She has sent out her maidens, she calls
From the tops of the heights of the city:
4 “Whoever is naive, let him turn in here!”
To him who lacks [c]understanding she says,
5 “Come, eat of my food
And drink of the wine I have mixed.
6 “Forsake your folly and live,
And proceed in the way of understanding.”
Pro 9:1-6
Proverbs of King Solomon
'Never correct conceited people; they will hate you for it.
But if you correct the wise, they will respect you..'
(Pro 9:8)
'The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.'
(Pro 9:10)
'You are the one who will profit if you have wisdom,
and if you reject it, you are the one who will suffer.'
(Pro 9:12)
My own Proverbs
19 'The road to inner peace passes over external appearance
and through inner deception.'
21 'A wise mans counsel is like the rays of the sun
at the beginning of spring'
22 'Relax the mind and you will find,
that the inner world is devine'
