But in the base it offers a passionate run through obstacles with its own rules and behind the scenes. If you like the extravaganza and you prefer to share with your friends, this marathon can appeal to you.
The story of the game can survive in the skin of one of the four ecstatic characters. It creates several races, which are the same for each protagonist. However, the scene scenes, some dialogues, and the sauce kick around the one you are sometimes clicking on for a few minutes. It is questionable or naive to watch at least to a certain extent, since most of the really stupid interviews between racers are complemented by television news.
Are you, for example, curious about the girl's quarrels in a pink costume with a corner that is offended when they call it a unicorn while she is a narrator? Of course, she is not, but has a certain relationship to these creatures, so she dresses the way she dresses. But more interesting are her reasons - they compete to do something to her father and sister. The other runners in the story are similar - they look like a "mešuge" (one has a head, the other is like a crust, but rather a cockroach, a relatively normal old man) and have their own racing motivation.
The competition itself is certainly fun, which does not mean it's normal. It is a marathon that makes races in several destinations and you have to win almost everywhere. To start always stand four athletes - you and three others, which may be those chests with which they can play the story, but otherwise they are somehow insipid AI opponents and later supposedly elite guy and star Handosme Hazuki.
The goal of each competition is to get the highest score possible and not just to get to the finals in the first place. Of course, this will surely help you, but there are also other points that can point you even before the opponents who have run in front of you. Or, on the contrary, you can play it if you have arrived at the first goal. Competitors can score points by increasing their popularity and gaining supporters. This is especially the case with small random quizzes that sometimes interrupt the run, and you choose to answer an uneasy question. Make the choice quickly so that the opponents do not blow the best choices, but also reasonably, to get the sympathy of the audience and not to miss their stupid sayings.
The most important thing, however, is your running performance, in which you overcome tricky obstacles in different environments. You will run through the streets of the city, across the road full of cars, grain crops, rice fields, the airport, but also the sushi restaurant, the train, the roof and the houses. You'll jump fences, circulate harvesters and barrels, stumble to the shopping cart, you fall into the pit, water or flour, you will find yourself on the slide, you will chase the dogs and much more. Falls are frequent and inevitable, because you just get rid of your opponents - or they too.
The whole track is made up of stages that do not have a fixed start and end. The winner of the stage is the one who remains the only run and leaves behind opponents. When this happens, a game of merit adds or removes stars and starts the next stage approximately where the previous one ended. It is important to collect as many stars as possible and, if you do not win at any stage, at least do not look too pristine. Because luck is drifting and the stars are poured once to one, once to the other racer, and for a moment you can have six, then only one. You can sometimes get an extra star in a mini-game in a maze where it gets the one who first finds the way out of the labyrinth. In the final, each gained and retained star has a nice 50 point value, which can nicely raise the score.
During a run, you can jump or creep and smash something to keep you from falling or getting stuck in the head. In addition, contestants can do bad things to each other or use something to encourage them. There are collectible items on the track, which usually change and take the form of some fruit. You can have two pieces together and use them in a double way. For example, it will cause your acceleration or floating on the plowing pineapple. Or they harm the others - they are slippery on the banana shell, you melt the melon, their nasty stuff and so on. These are really crazy races and a crazy party with friends as embroidered. Even though they have their own ailments. For example, you do not fail because of a bad camera. When you fall to the tail, it's the intention and you're out of the stage. But if you do not see yourself, because the camera is centered on the contestants behind you, then you unnecessarily hit or drop something and it is not your fault.
In addition, the direction of the run could be better marked. Generally, you run from left to right, but sometimes there are unexpected turns and unlikely places, such as a tearoom. Occasionally you notice an arrow or a less pronounced mark, but there is usually no warning. The result is that you run out of the track and you are somewhere out and again the game will be kicked out of the stage. When you repeat the same race multiple times, you are better oriented, because you will remember where to go. In the first attempts, however, you will usually pay for the ignorance of the terrain and the vaguely marked track.
Other modes of play are multiplayer, but only local and on one PC. The online game would certainly not be harmful, especially if you do not have friends. Verzus mode lets you choose one route, part of the marathon or all, with all the routes and compare the strengths with the three friends. Party games for eight people are separate mini-games, but there are only two (can be unlocked when passing the story for individual characters?). Anyway, we found a crazy bowling where a shopping cart is set up and a stroller is to be thrown. In the second mini-game, it's up to you to make the most of your distance on relatively more difficult obstacle tracks (other than the story) without falling. Whoever runs more meters will win.
The visuals of the game are gutted, colorful, with minimal details, but sufficient for the game. It contrasts with content that is also unpretentious and you can see that it's just such a flight for a few hours. Music is listenable, the central melody even totally catchy, but often repeats itself. In particular, Japanese skirts and snooze are here, instead of honest dubbing. But this game is really enough. The control is an ideal gamepad, but you can handle the keyboard with the keyboard.
Nippon Marathon can not be taken seriously, but it's a pretty nice ride. Such bizarre, Japanese, especially suitable for party with friends who are already in the mood. The story is about to go with one character only - it's just a naive and simple one, and it's just about getting to know the tracks. But the crazy marathon or mini-games (which should definitely be more) with friends are a good scatter that you may occasionally come back to.
