It takes incredible patience and skill to create such things. And imagination/talent too! The craftsmen who create such piece have souls of artists for sure, they are not simply good at working with wood. There was something else we visited called the "Cheerful Cemetery" but I thought one picture of a cemetery is enough. What this is renowned for, besides how it looks, is the cheerful, funny epitaphs instead of serious ones. They are all in verses too. I'll try to translate one: "Under this heavy cross // Lies my poor Mather-in-law // Three days longer had she lived // I'd be lying and she would read // You who pass by here // Try not to wake her // For if she comes back home // She would not stop talking at me // But I'll keep behaving the way I do // Because she can't come back // If you read this // Beware not to be in my shoes // Find yourselves good mother-in-law // To live well with her".
