I remember the time that my mind computes faster than a calculator in high school days. But when I stop using it, I now struggle even to compute small numbers.

I actually wanted to use this example in my post. That we almost completely stopped doing any mental calculations and rely mostly on technology for that. I'm talking multiplications and divisions, and even additions and subtraction. I wonder how many remember how to extract a square root without looking it up?
