In photography, the recent minimalist craze seems to be - to me - no more than an attempt of saying, I am cool.
I am zen, there's no cluttering in my mind, no awkward feeling, nothing's in excess - than maybe the excess of nothingness itself.
The sort of un-assumption of the dirty humanity in us, with all its stray lines and all, with all its disorder that cannot be tamed by the photographer and his camera.
And although it is not a genre, but a whole direction in photography, minimalism is more than anything a manifesto: me-zen.
