I come from Uganda, right in the Heart of Africa. My country is often closely linked to the Monstrous era of Dictator Idi Amin who ruled the country in 1970s to a point where many wonderful things about this country have continued never to take center stage. The truth however is that we are a country of great significance to the world around us.
The great Nile River has its source in Uganda. God in His marvelous design, made this eternal source of fresh water flow endlessly through time, to give forth life to Sudan, Egypt where some of the largest human population dwell in water scarce environments. We replenish their very livelihoods by the presence of the largest water lake in Africa, The Lake Victoria.
Every year, birds so far away as the Alps fly down to Uganda to have a natural vacation of fun, mating, breeding and regeneration, away from the hostile seasons down there during certain times of the year.
No country compares favorably with my motherland when it comes to bio-diversity endowments. Birds, animals, insects, and other fresh water creatures are steaming in our National Game Parks like there are no other parts of the world to go to.
Special points of attraction for generations since the colonial times have been the Crested Cranes- our National Bird, the Elephants, Gorillas, Giraffe, High Mountains with snow caps right astride the Equator and other mind-blowing natural features that leave tourists often throwing blames at God for having been so unfair with His allocation of natural goods.
As for many of us, we wake up every morning to thank the God creator for having made us Ugandans and most especially, for His generous gesture of favor to our motherland. For the record, every inch of our country is so arable naturally to this day that we have continued to defy climate change and be food sufficient as a country. O Uganda, May God Uphold Thee!
